Indefinite Alimony Awarded In Contested Divorce Trial
Jason Ostendorf obtained an award of indefinite alimony for his client after a two-day contested divorce trial. Mr. Ostendorf represented the wife, and questioned eight witnesses regarding the husband's adultery, including direct examinations of the husband and his girlfriend. Mr. Ostendorf questioned several additional witnesses regarding other aspects of the marriage. The Court granted the wife an absolute divorce based on the husband's adultery, and awarded fifty percent (50%) of the marital property to the wife, along with indefinite alimony in the amount of $1,200 per month. Mr. Ostendorf is familiar with other ways mortgage companies try to break the law. For example, in one case, the mortgage company tried to foreclose on a Baltimore County grandmother's home, despite the fact the debt had already been paid in full. Mr. Ostendorf immediately filed for an injunction. Within days, the mortgage company's foreclosure lawyers backed-off, and dismissed the foreclosure proceedings. In another case, the mortgage company attempted to foreclose, despite the fact that the homeowner had tried on many occassions to pay the alleged debt. Very soon after Mr. Ostendorf stepped-in to represent the homeowner, the mortgage company and its foreclosure lawyers decided to stop the games and accept the payments. | |||
