Indefinite Alimony Awarded In Contested Divorce Trial

Jason Ostendorf obtained an award of indefinite alimony for his client after a two-day contested divorce trial.  Mr. Ostendorf represented the wife, and questioned eight witnesses regarding the husband's adultery, including direct examinations of the husband and his girlfriend.  Mr. Ostendorf questioned several additional witnesses regarding other aspects of the marriage.  The Court granted the wife an absolute divorce based on the husband's adultery, and awarded fifty percent (50%) of the marital property to the wife, along with indefinite alimony in the amount of $1,200 per month.

Attorney Stops Foreclosures And Saves Homes

Jason Ostendorf has been able to stop foreclosure proceedings and save his clients' homes.  Often, the mortgage company refuses to grant the homeowner a loan modification, despite participating in programs such as the Obama Adminsitration's Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP).  The firm has successfully stopped these bogus foreclosures, turned-around and sued the mortgage companies for their illegal conduct, and obtained loan modifications.

Mr. Ostendorf is familiar with other ways mortgage companies try to break the law.  For example, in one case, the mortgage company tried to foreclose on a Baltimore County grandmother's home, despite the fact the debt had already been paid in full.  Mr. Ostendorf immediately filed for an injunction.  Within days, the mortgage company's foreclosure lawyers backed-off, and dismissed the foreclosure proceedings.  In another case, the mortgage company attempted to foreclose, despite the fact that the homeowner had tried on many occassions to pay the alleged debt.  Very soon after Mr. Ostendorf stepped-in to represent the homeowner, the mortgage company and its foreclosure lawyers decided to stop the games and accept the payments.

$150,000.00 Contempt Order

In the Orphans' Court for Baltimore County, Jason Ostendorf obtained a $150,000.00 contempt order in favor of his client, the wife of the deceased and personal representative of the Estate, against a person who stole money from the Estate.

Class Action Against Debt Collectors

Jason Ostendorf, along with a fellow consumer litigation attorney, Thomas Minton, filed a class action lawsuit against a credit card company, and its lawyers.  The lawsuit alleged that the debt collectors violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  The class action sought damages in excess of $1,000,000.00.
